Activities associated with Homolateral Movement Patterns

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THESE ACTIVITIES
Homolateral movements are those where each side of the body teams with the other to perform complex movements. An exemplar is the climbing abilities of a Primate. Dimensionally this is described as movements in the SAGITTAL PLANE. Activities that encourage the expression of these foundational movement patterns are discussed here:

Hiking on dirt trails

UNDULATING FRONT/BACK
Undulation exercises are done laying on one’s belly. Undulation is best approached as an extremely mild Isotonic exercise, where the level of muscle activation is just adequate to remove the slack from the muscle fibers, held for a few seconds, and then the opposite pattern is engaged. Undulation is discussed in this paper:
UNDULATION
The undulation pattern associated with Homolateral Movements is anterior/posterior flexion/extension of the core. In this pattern, we arch or bow our backs and then our fronts.
